Our History

Founded by Rev. John Gantt and a group of 17 believers in 1977, Hope EFC has been an active ministry in the Brazos Valley for almost 40 years from its humble beginnings with services at the Girl Scout house in Bryan, Texas beginning on January 1, 1978. Land was purchased in College Station in its current location on October 18, 1978. The members of Hope helped build and add finishing touches to our sanctuary building with blood, sweat and prayers in time for its first service on December 23, 1979. They laid tile, painted, stained wood, did cabinetry, landscaping and more and were able to dedicate the building to the Lord's service on June 1, 1980.

With a commitment to reaching the community through the bold preaching of the Gospel while meeting the needs of the less fortunate, Hope is a church that seeks to honor Jesus in word and in deed.  Visitors consistently describe the people of Hope has warm, friendly, and inviting.  If you’re seeking a place to worship, connect and serve, please come and join us as we seek to love God and love others.
